Finally, your smallest child can have a horse that is just his or her size to ride OR show! Children up to 70 pounds may ride depending upon the age, height and body type of the miniature horse. Unlike riding a full-sized horse, the hazards are greatly reduced due to the animals’ size. And, for even more fun, the AMHA sponsors a full youth division for your young showman.

Children 3-4 years and up routinely d rive at home, parades and in shows.
A miniature horse can easily pull up to 1-2 adults in a cart in all gaits, minimal experience is needed. Join in community events and expand your social life!!!
THEY ARE VERY HARDY AND LONG LIVED!!!
Based on good care, a miniature horse’s health resistance to disease and natural hardiness is excellent. They have been know to live for 30 years or more with good care - many times out living most dogs. You really can have a companion to grow up with!

Miniature horses are greatly adaptable to handicapped individuals due to their smaller size and affectionate nature.
